Types of Hydro-Power Machines
Conventional Hydroelectric: Referring to hydroelectric dams.
Run of the River Hydro-electricity: Captures the kinetic energy in rivers without the use of a dam.
Small Hydro: Projects are ten megawatts or less and often have no artificial reservoirs.
Micro Hydro: Projects provide a few kilowatts to a few hundred kilowatts to isolated homes, villages, and small industries.
Pumped-storage Hydro-electricity: Water is pumped during periods of low demands and is released to be generated when demand is high.
